Meet Robert. He is waiting for plants.

Comedy of Errors is very aptly called Comedy of Errors, delicious (except did not like constant beating of the very comical slaves – fantastic performance by Owain Arthur and Michael Jibson) and probably one of the lightest plays by the bard…

The gnome in our back yard got christened. Meet Robert… After a lengthy visit to a garden centre with two types of miniature trains and thyme we returned with a hook and two bargain hanging baskets. In the distant future I assume we will get some soil and plants to fill afore mentioned baskets…

Wreaking my brain. Honestly, what does Cameron mean with “big” society? Tories and Utopia? In the end, probably just a good contender for hollow phrase of the year…

Saturday afternoon in bed with a funny stomach, Steve McIntosh, Jeremy Paxman, Louis Theroux and eight Dorothys… Mark also had a funny stomach, but spent his time mostly with Dr. R. Keith Sawyer and John Rogers Searle…

Excellent sermon by the young priest of The Holy Name of Jesus in response to the Church’s abuse scandal. Very refreshing to hear a distinction made between religion and organisation within a religious context. On the other hand, Benedict Condoms would be a solution to a global problem. Generally the question remains, can being a religious person in this very secular UK give you some perspective on your thinking and practice or is the cynical British context preventing depth and clarity?…

40 minutes swimming in 50m pool feels perfect…

Oi weh, we bought the Observer AND the Sunday Times. Must plant some trees to compensate… The 1000 richest people in the UK got a third richer over the last year. Obscene, but not a surprise…

Learned more about my husband, which makes me happy…

Satisfied my caulking addiction…

Hi there, I was just reading in Michael Tippet’s “Moving into Aquarius”, an interesting collection of papers, which triggered wanting to write something myself. This is when I saw that I am actually getting traffic to this site, a few hits per day and sometimes quite a number of them. So, this is to say, this is work very much in progress. I am in the process of adding work samples which illustrate a 25 year career as a creative artworker and designer,  a few more poems and images. I am also working on a bio. Lots to do. Once I have a bit more on this site I will publish it under my own url (www.astridjohnson.co.uk). In the meantime, please enjoy these fragments….

For my stepdaughter this is one of the most important days in the year. She loves ghosts and creepy things and looks very goodl in her slim silver and black witch dress. Halloween is a rather American and secular invention, but this year, for the first time in my life, I carved not only one, but two pumpkins and Mark and I put some make up on before going to a party….
